About Us

Arvada Army Navy Surplus opened in 1984, taking over the hardware store that previously occupied the space. For over 25 years we have been proud to serve Arvada and the surrounding Denver metro area by providing quality products and superior service.

We very much still do things "old-school" here at Arvada Army Navy Surplus. Our cash registers and website are the most technological things we have in the store. Everything else, from special orders to store inventory, is still hand-written and recorded. This allows our staff to be responsible and knowledgable about everything in the store, which our customers appreciate.

Arvada Army Navy Surplus caters to many different customers because we literally have "something for everyone." We are centrally located in Historic Olde Town Arvada, which has transformed from a few little antique shops and abandoned buildings into a bustling shopping destination, with quaint little boutiques and restaurants. Arvada Army Navy Surplus serves the surrounding Boy and Girl Scout troops by providing camping gear, but at the same time caters to the more discriminating shopper with our men and women's clothing and footwear. Our customers have come to consider us a "destination store", coming in from as far away as Wyoming and Nebraska to shop with us.

As members of the Worldwide Distribution Buying Group, Arvada Army Navy Surplus has the ability to purchase quality products at low prices and pass these savings on to our customers. Due to the waning military surplus supply, our military surplus inventory has decreased, but still remains a presence in the store. We are thankful to have adapted well and the majority of our inventory has given way to Levi's, Carhartts, Dickies, and Camping/Outdoor gear.

Arvada Army Navy Surplus currently has a staff of 11 people, of which most have worked for us for 5 years or more. Their loyalty and knowledge means that our customers are going to leave our store comfortable that they are getting exactly what they need.

Shipping / Returns

Arvada Army Navy Surplus tries it's very best to have all items offered on our website available at all times; however, because we do not have an online inventory system, we cannot guarantee that all items are available in the quantity you may need. Some Carhartt and Propper items are available on a "drop-ship" basis only, meaning we do not carry the item in-store, but will be happy to have Carhartt and Propper ship you the item on our behalf. If we do not have the items you are needing in stock, Arvada Army Navy Surplus will notify you by phone or email upon processing.

Arvada Army Navy Surplus urges you to contact us by calling 1-866-427-8232 if you have any questions or concerns about your order. We will be more than happy to take your call and check stock levels for you, or take your order over the phone. Any orders more than 30 days old will be cancelled.

We strive to process orders within 48 hours of receipt. It is our policy to not charge your credit card until your order ships. Please note, if you are using your VISA card, an authorization may be placed on your card, holding those funds before the sale is finalized. We ship all orders via UPS, unless you are in Alaska, Hawaii or APO/FPO, in which USPS Priority Mail is used. If you would prefer Priority Mail service, please contact us and we will make the necessary changes for you.

Need to return one of our products? Simply ask yourself these 3 questions:

1. CONDITION: Is your merchandise still in original, brand new condition, unwashed, showing no signs of wear or use of any kind? Clothing must still have the tags attached unless defective(see below) ___YES___NO

2. COMPLETENESS: Have you enclosed all the original tags, etc. that arrived with your merchandise? ___YES___NO

3. RECENCY: Was your merchandise delivered less than 30 days ago? ___YES___NO

If you have answered NO to any of the above questions, please do NOT attempt to return your merchandise, as we will not be able to process your return, and cannot ship the items back to you.

If you answered YES to ALL of the above questions, please follow the steps below to return your merchandise.

Generally, you are responsible for any shipping costs incurred to send items back to us. If you received an item mistakenly, contact us to arrange return shipping. All of our boots are exempted from this policy, please contact us for return authorization.

If you believe you have received the wrong item or a defective, we will work with you to get you a replacement. We do not expect a defective item to be in original condition. If we mistakenly sent you the wrong item, you must send it back in new condition for us to be able to send the correct item.

How can I return items that qualify?

1. INFORMATION Please send a brief note describing the reason for the return. If you are exchanging, please state the item/size you need. Enclose payment if the amount of your replacement is more than the exchange.

2. SHIPPING Select a shipping method that will guarantee delivery, and send your item ATTN: RETURNS 5701 Olde Wadsworth Blvd. Arvada CO 80002.

3. PROCESSING Allow approximately 1-3 weeks after your return arrives back at our store to receive your replacement item or refund (less shipping costs). We do not usually charge to ship exchange items back to you via standard ground shipping.
